PROJECT 1

April -June 2023 National Consultant for Sexual Violence Research Initiative (South Africa):  Deep-Dive Analysis into VAW and VAC in India.

Study the nature and prevalence of VAW/VAC in India, scoping analysis, and rapid reviews of existing datasets (DHS/NFHS-V and  NCRB), scientific publications, published monitoring and evaluation reports, and conduct stakeholder interviews (KIIs).  The study uses the Meshwork Approach for policy analysis, focusing on knowledge generated via interstices in methods, subject positions, roles, and evaluative criteria.

PROJECT 2

My other research is funded by the International Growth Centre (London School of Economics and Political Science). The study titled ‘Gender-Based Violence and Empowerment Indicators in Bihar: Scope for Evidence-Based Research and Policy. I was involved with intervention training of health care providers at Bihar’s major tertiary hospitals. The training is based on the Identification Referral to Improved Safety (University of Bristol and London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene) and Healthcare Responding to Violence and Abuse (IRIS/HERA) model developed by a multi-country team based in Brazil, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Palestine.

Consultant to Oxford Policy Management Group for a Proposal on Gender Mainstreaming and Budgeting in Sectoral Plans in the Indian States of Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Manipur.

Ongoing typologies of sub-national typologies of the welfare state in India. I prepared a state-of-art dataset from Reserve Bank of India archives on Indian state’s social expenditure from 1947 onwards. It is a unique dataset.
